Challenge

Around the same time of the MasterBrand National Sales Meeting, Deluxe, a banking and financial institution consultation company, partners with Blue Pony every year for the content needs of their national sales meeting, Deluxe Exchange. This year the meeting was held in Boca Raton, FL and took on colorful graphics, projected animations, and new technology to show off all the exciting new plans Deluxe has for 2016.

Process

Deluxe Exchange 2016 was comprised of two main content settings: the general session and the Design Lab. The general session was made up of an introductory video, animations for speakers walking on stage, and looping animations for when guests enter and exit the ballroom.

The Design Lab is an interactive experience where guests explore each of four pillars that represent the life cycle of customer relationship: Acquire, Onboard, Engage, and Operate. This area had a service desk in the center of the room, often called the “genius bar,” where guests could start their journey through the pillars. Blue Pony created content to be played around the room on hanging monitors, a central video over the genius bar, seamless animated projections for the walls which correspond to the theme of each pillar, as well as designing stencils for spotlights, called gobos, to be projected on the walls during the event.

Solution

  • 96% of attendees said the conference met or exceeded their expectations.
  • 100% of attendees said the content was “good” or “fantastic”
  • 95% would recommend DX to a friend or colleague

The event looked fantastic and the guests in attendance were excited and engaged in all the technology and new ideas available to them. Deluxe Exchange proved once again to be a successful and positive experience for all who attended.

Challenge

Every year, MasterBrand Cabinets holds a National Sales Meeting for their employees to encourage, excite, and motivate them for the upcoming year. For this event, MasterBrand comes to Blue Pony to design the look of the event, to create video and audio content, and call the show. So for the 2016 meeting, Blue Pony flew down to San Antonio, TX to be part of this fantastic event.

Process

Before the event even began, the theme of “Designing our Future” had to be designed, animated, and applied to various collateral such as Power Point presentations, Twitter accounts, and printed materials. MasterBrand relied on Blue Pony to work with the venue to create the best layout of screen sizing and placement, stage layout, and guest seating. Concept sketches and storyboards transformed into introductory videos, looping animations that played while guests entered or left sessions, and graphics creating seamless transitions between speakers. After much client communication and collaboration, it was time for content created on a 15 inch monitor to be projected on 15 foot tall screens. As the guests learned about sales goals, team building, and customer service, the Ponies called the show and cued up the content until the final wrap.

NI & the IIoT

Challenge

National Instruments came to Blue Pony needing an interactive application to explain to their customers how their products fit into the Industrial Internet of Things.

“Sure! We can do that,” we said.

“What is the Industrial Internet of Things?” we said.

Well, the Industrial Internet of Things (or IIoT) refers to the digital connection of sensors, actuators, hardware, networks and systems in the industrial world. We quickly realized both how integral NI’s products are to the IIoT and how complicated these systems can be. Making this easy for users to comprehend became priority number one.

Process

NI_Web07
NI_Web06

The application would represent a hypothetical city, connected by the IIoT, with nine key locations where the user could “dive deeper” to learn how NI was integrated into the systems there. This city would be illustrated in an isometric style, which helped make a lot of otherwise complicated imagery easy for the viewer to process and navigate.

NI_Web10
NI_Web11

This isometric style meant keeping every line and shape of the illustration constrained to an angled grid. This meant that elements could be drawn by different designers and still fit perfectly together on the map when it was all done.

NI_Web13
NI_Web12

Designing the user interface meant keeping it as minimal and easy-to-understand as possible. Since the information being presented was complicated and technical at times, it was important to make sure the user would never be confused by the application itself. The clean, flat UI style fit with the isometric illustration of the city and made it easy for anyone to navigate the app.

Solution

City Map_Mission Statement

The final application also let the user sign up to receive emails with relevant information about the IIoT. This provided NI with a list of interested leads, helping their sales team and boosting their effectiveness in trade show environments where the app was utilized.

Additionally, Blue Pony has developed localized versions of the IIoT app for multiple countries. With the ability to use just one interactive app in multiple languages, this project will live for much longer than a single trade show.

Design Brief

The goal with this project was to develop a unified look and campaign for the launch of MasterBrand Cabinet’s new enterprise resource planning system. This was a company-wide initiative involving many different departments and individuals and we wanted the logo to show that. The driving concept was many parts coming together as a unified whole.

Process

The process began with client meetings and sketching. Below are a few that made it towards the final cut. Once a design was selected, we started the layout process and explored color options.

Design Brief

They say the only thing constant is change. And we’ve seen a lot of that through the 10 year journey of Blue Pony. Over the years we’ve become an established and well known design house in many different industries. Our brand and somewhat quirky name has become a well recognized and trusted presence in the design world. Our goal was to retain that recognition and familiarity while bringing a fresh look and more updated style to better reflect who we are today. This redesign focused on bold simplicity, and bringing all elements of our brand into a single cohesive look.

Design Brief

MasterBrand Cabinets, a leading manufacturer of cabinets in North America, approached Blue Pony with the task of branding and launching their new company wide safety awareness campaign.

Process

The logo process began with gathering inspiration from various industries. Everything from the markings used in lumber grading, to safety labels and warnings were taken into consideration. Our goal was to give the logo a safety theme, without being overly literal. The logo also needed to fit into MasterBrand’s existing brand standards and color palette.

Always Aware_Process_640x935

Solution

The final outcome was a huge success in helping the client launch their new safety initiative across multiple locations nationwide. Everything from stationary design, t-shirts, posters, and video production were incorporated to make this project a success both for MasterBrand and Blue Pony.
