Around the same time of the MasterBrand National Sales Meeting, Deluxe, a banking and financial institution consultation company, partners with Blue Pony every year for the content needs of their national sales meeting, Deluxe Exchange. This year the meeting was held in Boca Raton, FL and took on colorful graphics, projected animations, and new technology to show off all the exciting new plans Deluxe has for 2016.

Process

Deluxe Exchange 2016 was comprised of two main content settings: the general session and the Design Lab. The general session was made up of an introductory video, animations for speakers walking on stage, and looping animations for when guests enter and exit the ballroom.

The Design Lab is an interactive experience where guests explore each of four pillars that represent the life cycle of customer relationship: Acquire, Onboard, Engage, and Operate. This area had a service desk in the center of the room, often called the “genius bar,” where guests could start their journey through the pillars. Blue Pony created content to be played around the room on hanging monitors, a central video over the genius bar, seamless animated projections for the walls which correspond to the theme of each pillar, as well as designing stencils for spotlights, called gobos, to be projected on the walls during the event.

Solution

  • 96% of attendees said the conference met or exceeded their expectations.
  • 100% of attendees said the content was “good” or “fantastic”
  • 95% would recommend DX to a friend or colleague

The event looked fantastic and the guests in attendance were excited and engaged in all the technology and new ideas available to them. Deluxe Exchange proved once again to be a successful and positive experience for all who attended.

Challenge

Every year, MasterBrand Cabinets holds a National Sales Meeting for their employees to encourage, excite, and motivate them for the upcoming year. For this event, MasterBrand comes to Blue Pony to design the look of the event, to create video and audio content, and call the show. So for the 2016 meeting, Blue Pony flew down to San Antonio, TX to be part of this fantastic event.

Process

Before the event even began, the theme of “Designing our Future” had to be designed, animated, and applied to various collateral such as Power Point presentations, Twitter accounts, and printed materials. MasterBrand relied on Blue Pony to work with the venue to create the best layout of screen sizing and placement, stage layout, and guest seating. Concept sketches and storyboards transformed into introductory videos, looping animations that played while guests entered or left sessions, and graphics creating seamless transitions between speakers. After much client communication and collaboration, it was time for content created on a 15 inch monitor to be projected on 15 foot tall screens. As the guests learned about sales goals, team building, and customer service, the Ponies called the show and cued up the content until the final wrap.

Solution

This three day event hosted 600 MasterBrand employees discussing the sales they had made in 2015 and how to improve in the coming year, encouraged by speakers such as Martha Stewart and John DiJulius. Behind the scenes, Blue Pony partnered with DWP, a leader in event production and production equipment, and created a show like they had never seen before.

The speakers were motivational, the crowd was filled with enthusiasm, and the event wrapped up on a positive note. When we caught up MasterBrand representatives, we exchanged congratulations for once again successfully managing this event together.

Blue Pony was delighted to have the opportunity to participate in an event honoring Pope Francis’s 2015 visit to the United States. We collaborated with Meg Saligman, a world-renowned artist, to incorporate projection mapping into the Mary, Undoer of Knots Grotto installation. This installation was located at the historic Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, where Pope Francis held mass for more than 140,000 people.

The Grotto was found in the courtyard of the Cathedral and centered around a large, open wood structure.1 Visitors could write their prayers and struggles on ribbons and then tie them to the installation. In the tradition of Mary, Undoer of Knots, Pope Francis’s favorite artwork, the undoing of a knot symbolizes freedom from these burdens – a release of pressure. In this way, the audience was able to interact and add to the installation.

Overhead, at more than 300ft above the pavement is the copper dome of the Cathedral. This would become Blue Pony’s canvas. We developed 18 individual sequences that could be played in any order throughout the night. These included bringing lighting the dome with an endless sea of flickering candles, illuminated hands tying knots, and an animated version of the classical painting, Mary, Undoer of Knots.
