Cummins
First launched in 1952, Cummins came into the market with its first iteration of their turbocharger. Over 60 years later they still continue producing some of the world’s most optimized, efficient and reliable turbochargers. Launched in 2021, the 400 series VGT offers 5% higher turbocharger efficiency compared to its predecessor. The leapfrog innovation provides higher turbine efficiency. The latest HE 400 VGT will help engine manufacturers meet upcoming emission standards and best-in-class fuel economy.
THE CHALLENGE
We were challenged to showcase the new 7th generation series 400 variable geometry turbocharger and its newest features. Processes that were normally hidden under a thick casing were unveiled to viewers across multiple platforms.
THE PROCESS
Through meticulous modeling and precise rigging, we set about staging a fully 3D scene that could be pushed and pulled in dynamic ways to show the intricacy of Cummins machining.
THE RESULT
With engineering guidance straight from the source, we turned this concept into reality. Using custom 3D modeling in conjunction with textual call-outs and visual aids, we were able to break down the complexity of this turbocharger for the average consumer.
